The Blue Ridge Retirement Roadmap

Retirement is not one date. It is a transition involving income, healthcare, taxes, investments, benefits, lifestyle, estate planning, and the decisions that connect them.

Your transition, organized

Start with what you know today.

You do not need exact account values or every benefit detail. Answer a few practical questions and the Roadmap will organize the checkpoints that may deserve attention.

When does retirement begin for you?

A target date is enough. You can update it later as your plans become clearer.

A best estimate is fine.

How might health coverage change?

Coverage timing is often one of the most important retirement-date dependencies.

Which income decisions may be ahead?

We only need to know which topics apply—not account values or benefit amounts.

What is already in place—and what is on your mind?

Mark the planning foundations you have completed, then choose the concerns you want the Roadmap to prioritize. No concern is selected by default.

      Important decision context

The dates matter. The surrounding facts matter too.

Timing may depend on age, current coverage, employer size, retirement date, and enrollment eligibility. Verify deadlines with Medicare, employer benefits, a qualified insurance professional, and your financial planner.
A claiming decision may involve health, longevity, marital status, employment income, taxes, other assets, survivor needs, and cash-flow requirements.
Some elections may be permanent. Survivor benefits, lump-sum alternatives, interest rates, plan provisions, and life expectancy deserve careful review.
Leaving funds in a plan, rolling to an IRA or another plan, or taking a distribution can involve different fees, investments, services, protections, and tax consequences.
Retirement may create opportunities and risks involving benefits, pensions, gains, distributions, conversions, Medicare premium surcharges, withholding, and estimated payments.
Retirement planning also includes purpose, routine, identity, relationships, health, travel, family, service, hobbies, and how you want to spend your time.
Bring the roadmap to the planning table

A timeline becomes more useful when the decisions are coordinated.

Blue Ridge can help you review how income, healthcare, investments, taxes, benefits, and the life you want in retirement fit together.
